Angela lives in a small settlement entirely comprised of her family members, outside of the village of Chisitu, Mulanje, Malawi. Both her parents died of Malaria when she was eight years old. She and her younger brother now live with their grandmother who is very old and unwell, she is unable to even cook for herself. This leaves Angela and her brother to do all the household chores on their own. Despite these difficulties, her grandmother is one of the few family members that are supportive of Angela going to secondary school. Angela has always attended school in Chisitu and looks forward to attending nursing school in a new area.
