Day 11: Landon Marder, Teacher for America
Landon Marder is a Senior at the University of Pennsylvania majoring in Economics with a minor in International Relations. He will graduate this May. Additionally, he is a member of the International Affairs Association and currently tutors geometry at University City High School in West Philadelphia. Starting this June, Landon will be a 2011 Teach For America Corp Member in Colorado, where he will be teaching secondary math at an urban Colorado school. Teach For America is a nonprofit organization that recruits recent graduates to teach in low-income rural and urban communities with the goals of closing the educational achievement gap and ensuring that all students get a great education.
