Featured Project: Let's Go for Geometry

Arlington Academy of Hope, aims to develop Ugandan communities into self-sustaining and vibrant societies through education and healthcare, particularly working with children. They achieve this by establishing clinics and developing educational models. Their latest project, Let's Go for Geometry, is trying to raise funds for school supplies, and needs just $390 more!
WHAT IS THE PROJECT ABOUT?
Often the lack of adequate school facilities and supplies holds back educational quality. In Uganda this particularly applies to primary school students who struggle when it comes to their end of primary school exams. Let's Go for Geometry wants to raise funds to get Chalk Board Geometry Sets to use to improve the teaching of mathematics, which often proves to be the most challenging section for students. The sets include a large compass, protractor, and ruler; simple tools but used for teaching the most basic of geometry concepts to their students. These will help teachers demonstrate the math concepts on a black board, making it easier for the student to comprehend.
WHAT'S SPECIAL ABOUT THIS PROJECT?
The geometry sets that they are raising money for go to 14 out of the 22 schools that the organisation regularly works with in Uganda, each to different classes. These classes that they are going to can have up to 150 students at a time. The project will help over 2,200 students pass their mandatory exams that determine whether they can continue with their education. The sets can be reused for future years, making them sustainable investments in the communities' children's education.
WHAT WILL BE THE IMPACT OF THIS PROJECT?
[ul][li]Helps thousands of children with their math education[/li][li]Helps them to pass their primary school exam[/li][li]Helps secure a better future for children living in rural communities[/li][li]A sustainable investment not only in these children now, but years to come[/li][/ul]
