Greetings! My name is Yong Ti Yuan and this year, I am 15 years old. I am from Nujiang Prefecture, Fuxiang County, Aohengdi Township. Both of my parents are farmers and including my sister, we are a family of four. Because my mother is illiterate, she does not understand the concept of success as it stands in today's society. This is no fault of her own; the fact that she and my father can support us in our studies is commendable. After all, they are farmers. Every bit of money they earned required their blood, sweat and tears. So I must work hard and succeed.
My family's lifestyle is not extravagant; rather, because school fees are expensive, my family cannot live lavishly.
But I strongly believe that intellect can change my destiny so I must study hard. Even though I will encounter various challenges on this journey (i.e. not enough money), your help and my hard work will surely ensure my success.

(Yong Tiyuan), sponsorship number 16538. I am incredibly thankful for your support these past few years. I am from a remote farming village and both of my parents are farmers, in a home where two children go to school. The stress on our everyday life, as a result of our lack of money, has fallen onto my parents to shoulder the burden. As I watch them inch closer to old age, I sometimes strongly desire to leave school, to shoulder a part of that burden, even though I do not want to lead a life in which I am resigned to a fate contingent on a lack of education. Thankfully, in my most vulnerable, helpless moments, your support me allowed me to derive a sense of warmth, to see the light at the end of the tunnel, motivating my eventual return to school.
