On October 27, 2024, we proudly hosted the Hope Across Borders virtual photography exhibition, a moving showcase of the resilience and determination of displaced Myanmar students in Mae Sot, Thailand. This special event, held via Zoom, featured the stunning work of photojournalist Rayna Carruthers and highlighted the life-changing efforts of the Peach Foundation, an organization dedicated to providing education and hope to refugee communities.
The exhibition offered a glimpse into the daily struggles and triumphs of students and teachers working tirelessly to rebuild their futures through education. Attendees were treated to an intimate exploration of Rayna’s photographs, which captured the strength and aspirations of these young learners against the backdrop of political instability and displacement.
Following the gallery presentation, a live Q&A session brought attendees and Rayna together to discuss her journey, the ongoing challenges faced by these communities, and the critical role education plays in breaking cycles of poverty and displacement. Conversations delved into the personal stories behind the photographs, the Peach Foundation’s impactful initiatives, and how viewers could contribute to creating lasting change.
