Elia lives with her mother and father and 5 brothers and sisters in their two bedroom home in El Porvenir.
Elia has a severe hearing impairment and is not able to communicate verbally. SKIP has been able to fund her education in a special needs school for the past 4 years and through this she has been able to learn sign language. Elia´s family is extremely close-knit and supportive and they have also learned sign language in order to be able to communicate with her.
Elia is a gentle, loving child and extremely affectionate. She is enthusiastic and positive about her studies and enjoys going to school.
