Solar Meninos de Luz is a philanthropic civil organization founded in 1991 and recognized by federal and municipal services in Brazil. It promotes full-time education, career training, cultural activities, sports, as well as basic healthcare services in the communities of Pavão-Pavãozinho and Cantagalo in Zona Sul, Rio de Janeiro.

Solar was created by the Lar Paulo de Tarso organization, a branch of the Brazilian Spiritist Church, which has been carrying out extensive social projects in the area since 1983.

Mission: To educate children and young people living in socially vulnerable conditions in the Pavão-Pavãozinho and Cantagalo districts. By stressing prevention and the participation of family and the community we hope to create conscientious, dignified and free individuals who, with a solid foundation in academic, ethical and moral education, will act as spokespeople working towards social transformation in their community by focusing on basic values and expectations.
