Day 26 Student: Kaladevi
Kaladevi is a girl from one of the surrounding Tea Estates from Maskeliya. Her mother works as a tea picker, earning US$60 a month, and supports most of the family's needs, including Kaladevi's. Kaladevi's mother is insisting that her daughter get a job, but Kaladevi feels she needs to improve her English and IT skills in order to get a long-term better salaried job. She is very keen to stay at Tea Leaf Vision for her schooling, despite the constant fights with her mother.
Her mother has agreed that if Kaladevi can find the money for her education, then she will have no problem with Kaladevi coming to the centre this year.
