Day 3 student: Chao Xu

Living in Sichuan, China, 13 year-old Chao Xu was raised by a single mother (his father mysteriously disappeared six years ago). Since his mother must work in the city to earn an income for the family, Chao currently lives with his grandmother.

As of July 10, 2011, Chao is only $75 away from having his education fully funded for the year.
