Max Jaychux is part of the Analytics team at Givology. He joined Givology as an intern ten months ago, and quickly rose up in the organization. He feels that working with Givology has been a very positive experience. In Max’s words: “Givology is organized as a micro philanthropy organization which means anyone can make an impact. If you can’t donate money, you can donate your time.” Max shares the wonderful and powerful story of Kakenya Center for Excellence (KCE) in the new edition of “A Guide of Giving”. This feature includes the extraordinary story of Kakenya Nataya, founder of KCE, who broke past the chains of her father a village elders to become one of the female philanthropists and educators in her community. The Kakenya Center for Excellence seeks to empower and motivate young girls through education to become agents of change and to break the cycle of destructive cultural practices in Kenya, such as female genital mutilation and early forced marriage.
Max is 21 years old, and a huge sports fan. He is currently in his junior year at Ivey Business School at The Western University in London, Ontario, Canada. He finds his inspiration in supporting education, for he believes that education can have a positive long-term impact on issues such as gender discrimination, political conflict and unemployment. He hopes the book inspires other volunteers to give their time and effort to support causes they believe in. In Max’s experience, volunteering has helped him meet new people with similar interests, learn new skills and support a cause that makes him happy.

“I am a strong believer that you will create a greater impact by committing to a single project or organization for an expected period of time. Once you find a cause you like, there is no reason to leave. Instead of spreading your time around, show full commitment to one organization and you will be surprised by exactly how much you can accomplish. I really can’t think of a better way to spend your time!”
